We decided to go check out Christmas in the Park in Poway this year. It was totally worth it! They had the steam train going around the park for the kids to ride and tons of free arts and crafts for the kids to do.
They had food and treats, too. Like cotton candy. Max convinced us that he needed it.
Santa and Mrs. Claus rode in on the train and said hi to all the kids (and might I add that it looks like Santa has upgraded Mrs. Claus this year, if you know what I mean). We even got to see Max's preschool teacher Mr. Mattie and his family.
(sorry for the cruddy pictures, we only had our iPhones!)
After we saw Santa (the kids had no interest in sitting on his lap) we went to get some dinner where Lia, as always, scrounged off our plates for our food after finishing off her own. She was definitely digging the rolled tacos and "sauce."
Then we found "Candy Cane Lane" in Poway and drove by all the amazingly lit houses. This cul de sac was pretty out of control. Every house was lit up with thousands of lights! The kids went crazy over it. It was pretty impressive to see.
Christmas in the Park was pretty great. It totally put us in a Christmasy mood. This year I feel like the holidays have been so rushed. Not that I'm really complaining, I've been seriously blessed with TONS of photography business. But it leaves little time to enjoy the holidays. I guess that's the trade off! But we've definitely been taking advantage of the holidays since I'm done for the season. And it's been a nice way to spend time together!
