Christmas in CT #1: Cookie Making

We finally made it to Connecticut after a LOOONG plane ride. Thanks to Danielle Max was entertained while Tyler and I wrestled Lia. She was actually pretty good. Even I get bored on flights like! She colored and ate snacks and watched shows and played games on the iPad.

The next day we decided to have a Christmas cookie making extravaganza! We made 4 different kinds of cookies (one kind we made two different recipes) and let the kids decorate some.

Stealing sprinkles as fast as he could and shoving them in his mouth!

Look how grown-up Mattie Rose is! She turned 5 on the 28th. It's sort of surreal.

And my favorite Christmas cookies -- Anginettes. Seriously, they taste  just like Christmas to me. Christmas isn't complete without them. They are a dense almondy lemony flavored cookie with a lemony glaze and sprinkles on top.

We actually ended up making two different versions of this one. My mom had been wanting to try a different recipe from a friend she had received years ago. Unfortunately, it couldn't hold a candle to our family recipe, the one we've used to generations.
