Max had a party!

But he didn't quite turn 5 yet! We decided to have Max's birthday party early this year so that Tyler could go. When we planned the party we had no idea what his schedule for the month of July would be like so we just planned the party for when we knew he would be around.

Thanks to my awesome friend and photography client we were able to have Mad Science party! Mad Science is a totally awesome company that teaches pretty much anyone who wants to learn about science. They mostly focus on classrooms and kids, doing science demonstrations and workshops all over San Diego in schools and libraries. They have "scientists" who come and put on a whole workshop! It's pretty awesome. We had one come to Max's preschool right before he left to do a little workshop with the kids.

So Max's party was a Science Party!! It was "super awesome!" according to Max, and most of the kids there. All of them pretty much loved every minute of it! We did lots of Max's favorite treats, so pretty much candy and cookies (sorry parents!) and the weather was perfect that day, too. I also made some stickers for the kids to wear -- science themed of course! The kids were mesmerized by the science stuff and got to see a rocket launch twice! They gave Max his own rocket, too. And the party included these wicked cool goodie bags full of science toys and stickers. Seriously, this was a really awesome unique party, and super duper easy!

Every kid got a chance to blow inside the super long bag to fill it up with CO2 gas. They thought it was pretty awesome.

Egg inside the bottle trick! Love it!

Dollar soaked in alcohol won't burn! Max even got to keep it when he was done.

Dry ice makes wicked cool bubbles in dish soap. I had no idea!

Apparently this bubble would have gotten HUGE but Max kept wanting to pop it before it got really big. He was just do dang excited! Luckily the scientist had a good sense of humor about it.

Max got SO many awesome presents. He seriously has the best friends! I'm always amazed that whenever I throw a party for Max pretty much every single kid I invite comes. Either they love him so much or they just want to see what kind of crazy party we come up with every year! This might be the last big party for a while though! I need a party break.

SO -- Mad Science is awesome!! If you have the chance to do a party like this, or go to one of their free demos in San Diego DO IT. Totally worth it!! (If you friend them on Facebook they post where they will be doing the demos). Awesome party!! Happy almost birthday to Max!!
