Max is officially our little reader. I'm so SO proud of his progress this year! It's no secret that I was a bit stressed about his reading abilities during and after kindergarten. He still struggled a bit with it and because of that was not interested in reading much at all. It was always a struggle to get him to practice. Well, something finally clicked for him and after just a few weeks of first grade he was reading like a champ!! Now he reads well above grade level!
He's really into the Magic Tree House series and reads and reads. He'd still rather play with his toys or watch a show on TV over picking up a book, but once I convince him to read he will sit for a long time and do it. And of course that prompts Lia to snuggle up next to him and badger him to read out loud to her.
The kids got to read to therapy dogs at the library the other day and Max took it very seriously, making sure Henry the dog paid attention and saw the pictures.
I'm just so glad he's there! Next to potty training, this has been the hardest thing to get through for me! So proud of him!!
