Sports
It's safe to say that Max loves sports. He LOVES sports. He likes to watch them on TV and play them outside. He wants to try everything. And he's pretty good once he gets going. One of his favorite things to do is play football with Tyler. Tyler will toss the ball down the grass, Max will pick it up and just start running full speed. And he's fast. Random people will always comment on how fast he is. Like, he's seriously fast for a kid his age. He blows past all the kids in his neighborhood, some that are 3 or 4 years older than him. He loves to run and he's amazing at it.
These are all action shots. See how big that smile is while he's running trying to score a touchdown?
He's also a fan of climbing things. Trees, beds, couches, tables, rocks, walls. He's seriously active!
Another sport he's been into since the start of World Cup is soccer. He's enthralled with the games on TV. He asks about all the players, who the teams are, how the game is played. And he kicks the soccer ball around the house and wears his Italia shirt proudly.
He's getting pretty good at soccer, too! He'll have to wait until next summer to sign up, though. But check out those skills!
Lia gets in on World Cup action, too.
As long as she has a snack she's pretty happy.
Max's next thing? We're trying out Karate. We'll see how it goes. So far so good. More pictures to come.

More Piggies
I've tried pigtails on Lia before but they didn't really work very well. They kind of just stuck straight out. The other day while we were getting ready for church she sit still long enough to let me do some more. This time they came out wicked cute.
And I know she's my baby so I'm biased, but she's just so pretty. Like, not just cute, but pretty. My sweet pretty baby who is all grown up! At least she thinks she is.

Legoland
Thanks to my mom and step dad we have passes to Legoland. We got some free friend passes in the mail and took Brooke and Sienna and Chloe along with us one day. It was fun to have all the kids together. It was hard with Lia though, she can't go on much of the rides there, she's a little small.
But we ran around and did what we could and then had lunch at Ruby's. We ate a LOT of food. Hamburgers, shakes, fries and onion rings. Oh man, it was delicious!! And lots of fun!!

Star of India
Tyler and I try to get down to San Diego as much as we can. We like to walk along the bay and check out the boats and the sites. The famous Star of India ship is down there and to Max it looks like a real pirate ship. We finally decided to take him on it. He was in Heaven.
Lia took a turn at the wheel, too. She was pretty excited to be able to run around and follow Max everywhere.
I can't tell you how many times I tell people my name and I get the "Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria" jokes.
After the ship we went to the Russian Submarine that is also sitting in the harbor. And that's one place I never have to go again. Just thinking about it again makes me shudder. It was so cramped and closed in. I mean, look at the potty! Scary!
The kids had fun climbing through the manholes and pulling the levers.
We also got to go on the HMS Surprise. They filmed the movie "Master and Commander" on it. It was just like the Star of India. I'm not a big boat person, but the kids had fun and Max thought it was so cool to go on a real pirate ship. It was a pretty fun day with the family!

Grammie Visit
We had a nice visit from Grammie a few weeks ago. The kids love having her here. They get all her attention the whole time. We took the kids to the Science Center for a little while and the kids had a blast. We ended up getting passes because it was so cheap! It'll be nice in the summer because it's air conditioned!
Max and Lia both had a great time with this ball contraption. It would suck the plastic balls up and spit them out and shoot them all over. It was really fun.
Max found this video microscope and insisted it was what Tyler uses to take pictures of people's brains. He held it on our heads and pointed out where our brain was.
We then went birthday shopping for Max and Grammie got Max his very own blue Razor Scooter and a video game thingy and a game to go with it. He was a pretty happy kid! Thanks for coming to visit Grammie! Tyler and I even got to go on a date! We tried this pizza place downtown that I've been meaning to try for a while. They boast real New Haven style pizza. And I have to say, it's my new favorite place. I think he goes a little over the top on the New Haven style (meaning it's a little too thin) but it's the closest I've had and it's amazing. Reminds me of home.

Supermax
When I got out of the shower the other day I saw this on the floor in the living room. These are Max's favorite pajamas and he was pretty mad when I made him take them off to get dressed. But he came up with this idea all on his own. He made Superman out of his duck and some wings from a dragon toy. He was pretty dang proud of it.

Lia and Her Bike
So I might have went a little crazy with pictures of Lia's first bike. But she is just too dang cute! When Grammie was here visiting she bought Lia her very own bicycle! Tyler and I had wanted to get her one for her birthday but we weren't sure how long she'd hold out and how many more melt downs we'd have to listen to when she was outside playing and was the only kid without a bike. Luckily Grammie came through! She even got her own helmet and everything! And although she usually refers to it as her scooter, she loves it.
She loves the little trunk on the back so she can wheel around her various rocks, grass, dirt, sticks and leaves. She's also a fan of the streamers. She's always saying "so beautiful mama!!"
