Movin' On Up!

IMG_3052

After 6 long years we finally got to say goodbye to our Mesa apartment. No, Tyler hasn't graduated yet! He still has a year left (BOO). I tried to muster up some sad emotions about leaving student housing and I just could not. I was just TOO excited!! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'll definitely miss our friends and that community feeling. And the sunsets we could see from our living room. I will NOT miss our toys being broken by neighborhood kids or having no privacy or having to haul 6 loads of laundry down to the laundry room or the nasty dirty carpeting or everything that would break and fall apart daily... I could, obviously, go on and on.

Our new place is fabulous!! It's my parents' house in Encinitas. After having a tenant in it for 5 years they decided they want to be able to actually use it so they are generously letting us rent it for the next year or so! And let me tell you -- it's paradise! Even the kids keep running around saying it feels like they live in a hotel. And they can actually run around without getting yelled at!

I only snapped a few pictures so far and once things get more settled I'll take some more. But for now all I can say is I'm enjoying our washer and dryer and dishwasher that is so silent I don't even know it's on and the fact that I can park my car inside the garage and having a master bedroom and bathroom and a playroom for the kids...

That's so exciting! Way better renting a crappy, fixer-upper house that is not worth even half the amount of rent we pay! I loved moving out of student housing last year! But I admit, I did cry when I drove away. I surprised myself, I'm totally not a cryer over life events. But I did cry - maybe because I birthed three little babies while we lived there and brought them home there and we had made it our home. I don't know. I don't miss it at all. Not that where we are is much if a step up... lol! Congrats on the move!
