Tyler finally finished all of his residency interviews! It truly felt like the process would never end. Poor Tyler flew all over the country, sometimes back to back flights just to get to the next interview. He was basically gone from October through January. The residency interview process is long and grueling, especially when you are trying to match in a specialty that is small, elite and hard to get in to, which of course is the exact one that Tyler picked (is anyone really surprised?) And, we have to pay for the travel and hotels and cars ourself which makes it even more of a burden. Medical school and all that comes with is feels a lot like a nonstop marathon, that for us, lasted seven years. Interview season was seriously rough. The kids felt Tyler's absence profoundly and it really wore on them towards the end. We tried to stay busy and happy but really we just missed him so much. At times he was home for maybe 2 days and then he'd be gone again. It was all worth it in the end, but I hope we never have to do it again!
