Date Night
For some reason our date nights are few and far between. Babysitters are expensive and so is eating out, not to mention that honestly at the end of the day we're both just tired! But we made an effort and had a nice night together. We tried out a new pizza place called Buongiornos and walked on the beach and got some gelato, too. We even ran into some friends from our ward having a little bon fire. It's also nice to go on dates now and NOT talk about matching and interviews. It's so nice to feel settled!

Busted Chin
Lia's first major injury happened and it was kinda scary! Max and Lia were upstairs playing loudly in the playroom when I suddenly heard a super loud crash and then horrible crying. I raced up the stairs to find Lia facedown on the floor. I told her to stand up but when she tried to stand up her legs gave out and she fell again and her face was turning blue. So I of course jumped to the next logical conclusion that she had broken her neck and was either dying or paralyzed. Luckily Tyler was home and I yelled for him and he laid her down on the floor and checked her out and she seemed to be fine. Later I realized that she was crying so hard she held her breath and started to pass out.
Apparently Max was chasing her and grabbed her arms and tried to tie them together behind Lia's back. When she fell she had no arms to cushion her fall so she fell directly onto the hardwood floor on her chin. It almost immediately bruised and I was just relieved that it didn't split open. We iced it as good as we could that night but she was up all night long crying about the pain. We were concerned enough that we took her in to the doctors and he confirmed that she most certainly had a fracture in her chin. Luckily her jaw seemed to be fine though (with facial injuries, a jaw injury can be really really bad, like surgery and teeth problems for life bad). Her bruising was pretty intense for a few weeks (that picture does not even do it justice; it got worse before it got better) but it's healed up just fine now. And she was pretty proud of it.

PDL Art Show
Max had an adorable drawing in the Park Dale Lane Art Show. It took us a while to find it but once we did he was so proud of it!

Spring Break!
Max had two weeks of spring break, half of which he spent being sick (poor kid). On the days he wasn't sick we relaxed at home and played at parks. One day while Lia had school Max and I spent the day in Balboa Park together hitting up the Natural History museum while we were there. We even ate lunch at the Japanese Tea Garden. It was so fun to spend some one on one time with him! It was definitely needed.

Spring Concert
Max had his spring concert and they sang patriotic songs. It is always so fun watching those adorable kids sing and dance up there. One of my favorite things about being a parent! (Max is wearing the blue and white striped shirt).

Our Home
It's been so nice to go to the beach and feel like we don't have to give it up for colder climates. We LOVE where we live!
We've taken advantage of the empty beaches and had a picnic on the beach for FHE one night. It was so perfect!
