Updates

Okay, so I know I've been the WORST blogger EVER lately. And for all 3 of my loyal readers, I'm sure it has been quite disappointing. I really have been busy though. REALLY REALLY busy. Things are starting to calm down now, so I'm going to try to be on top of the whole blogging thing. Plus, I feel so guilty since this is supposed to be Maddox's baby book kind of thing and I've been so neglectful in that area! Bad mama! Anyway... I have lots more posts to upload in the next few days so stay tuned... I SWEAR!!

Oh, and we lost our point and shoot camera (and I'm sad because we had some cute stuff on there, too) (and I think Max may have thrown it in the trash). Not that that's an excuse, it's just one of the many reasons why posts have been few and far between.

Oh, and here is my little cheese... isn't he cute? He now smiles for the camera on demand (or at the person demanding a smile from him for the camera).

Hi Everyone!

Max likes to say hi to everyone in his family and his friends every night. Here's a little video of him in the bath. (Okay, so not to freak everyone out, when he looks down in the video, he is actually playing with a toy in the water... not, well, you know).

Falling Down

Apparently Max thought this was the funniest thing ever. He did this for like 15 minutes one night, cracking up hysterical the whole time.

We Have A Talker

Maddox talks. A LOT. In fact, when he is awake, he never STOPS talking. Seriously. His vocabulary has exploded. He says a ton of sentences and words and sings and babbles and it is just all so dang cute. Tyler and I think it's wonderful!

He also repeats E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. We have to be so careful with what we say, not that we say bad stuff, we don't, but we still have to be careful. When we drive in the car he sings along to all the songs. It's so funny. He will pick up the last two or three words of a verse or line and sing them, almost in harmony.

Some of the cute things he says (and this list could be really long, but these are only a few I remember as I'm sitting here typing):

Where Nomah is? (Where is Noah -- his little doll) (he also replaces Nomah with other words like mama, dada, beebee, car, bike, etc)
Mama, scuse me peeease! (When I'm in his way)
No may!! (no way)
Mama, princess. (telling me I'm a princess)

He also knows most words in Spanish and English. Sometimes he says things in Spanish during the day that I don't even understand. It usually doesn't go over well. He's getting to be very polite, too. He usually says "thank you" when you give him something and "please" when he wants something, without too much prompting.

We sure do love our little chatter box! And it's more fun now because we can have conversations. He's so interactive!

A Fun Party

Our friends, the Del Pegos, celebrated the birthday of their adorable little girl, Izzie, and Max had a TON of fun. Izzie is just the cutest thing in the world and her party was really fun with great food!

Max especially enjoyed the bubble table and the pinata. He loved that it was a butterfly, but when the kids started whacking it, he got a little upset. He kept saying, "OH NO!! FLUHFLY!!!!" And then when it finally broke open, instead of grabbing all the goodies on the ground, he ran and rescued the butterfly and tried to put it back together. Maybe we won't be doing one of those for his party this year -- it seemed to be a little traumatizing.

Thanks for including us in Izzie's special day!! We had a blast!!

The Ellen Show!!

Okay, this was a great day!! So Brooke Baker got tickets to go see the Ellen show and she asked me, Mariah and her sister in law Christy to go. So we made our husbands watch the kiddies (well, really Danielle did most of the watching -- thanks!!) and we hopped in the car and made a day of it. We didn't get there in time to actually sit in the audience of the show (we had stand-by tickets) but we got into the Riff-Raff Room and danced our butts off (I wish that was an actual true statement because mine could use some down-sizing, but oh well). I even caught a t-shirt that says, "I danced with Ellen"!!

Anyway, we had an awesome time. Especially when the special surprise guest was DAVID freakin' BECKHAM!!! I seriously had to tell myself to breathe because I thought I was going to die. If only we had been in the audience (although, it was probably a good thing because I really might have died).

Anyway, that wasn't even the best part. So we were pulling out of the NBC studios and Brooke heard some girls screaming. And she said "OH MY GOSH, ELLEN IS BEHIND US!!" Ellen Degeneres was actually pulling up next to us in her little gray porsche!!! Brooke slowed waaaay down (the guy behind us was pretty ticked) and she ended up RIGHT next to us. We rolled down our windows and started yelling like little girls, "Ellen we love you!!" and she totally rolled down her window and hung up her cell phone and started talking to us!!!!! I was so star struck. She was so so so nice, too. I couldn't believe she actually stopped to talk to us.

We told her we went to her show and we only made it into the Riff-Raff Room and she was like, "oh, that's too bad" (or something like that) and Mariah said, "But we're coming back on April 30th!!" and Ellen was said, "well I'll be there!" in her funny Ellen voice. We even asked her what the traffic was like right then and she said she didn't know, that is was probably "trafficky."

Anyway, it was awesome (I only wish I had videotaped it, too. I was too star struck to think of anything), and it was all thanks to Brooke AND the fact that we both pulled our straw wrappers successfully into knots and wished we would get to see Ellen. I can't wait to go back!!
